Campaign for Saving Kobra’s life

Ahead with all of our power!

We informed you, in report no.1, of our activities up to 18^th of October. In this report we are to inform you about our activities since.

Our campaign attracts more supporters every day. Numerous human right activists from all over the world have contacted with us to declare their support and telling about us to their lists. Numerous Medias on internet have published letters from Kobra and her father in their first page. There are so many weblogs introducing and supporting the campaign that we simply can’t even publish a list of them. Two TV channel, including a channel from Sweden, have contacted us to contact Kobra’s family and we have arranged the necessities with them.

Women’s defending groups from different countries have contacted us to declare their support. This includes Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan (RAWA), Women’s Campaign (karzar-zanan.com) and Anti-stoning committee in Paris. The latest has collected plenty of signatures for our petition and has informed the French society about execution decrees in Iran. Numerous workers and students gatherings have also defended us.

We have contacted Nazanin Afshin Jam, human right activist residing in Canada and winner of human rights prize of United Nations in 2006, and inform her about our activities. She, continuing her participation with us, has contacted some American and Canadian Media, including VOA, and demanded them for news coverage about Kobra. She has also contacted the authorities of international organization of human rights demanding them to sincerely follow and act on Kobra’s issue. It is probably needles to say that Nazanin is the one who prepared a petition for Nazanin Fatehi and this has attracted more than 200 thousand signature by now.

Some of you have had good initiatives. This includes producing beautiful video musics, reciting Kobra’s letter with beautiful pictures and a number of posters. Many friends who are administrator of websites are helping us as best as they can. All this shows the definitive decision of us to save convicts from the execution and in next step, abolish the capital punishment.

Some of you have declared in your blogs that you will participate in 24^th September action of execution convicts families opposite the representative of UN in Tehran. We demand you all to send your reports and photos to the campaign email so we can publish it internationally. More importantly we ask you all to be there with friends, acquaintances, colleagues, neighbors, and families. Participate in families’ action.
